A GitLab account is automatically created, if you sign in using your JSC account.
LFS is a comfortable and efficient way to store large binaries.
You may use the collaborative markdown editor HedgeDoc (login) to edit md-files (markdown).
With GitLab Pages you can create static websites for your GitLab projects, groups, or user accounts. You can use any static website generator: Jekyll, Hugo and so on.
GitLab can show whether a commit is verified or not when signed with a GPG key. All you need to do is upload the public GPG key in your profile settings.
